We are pleased to share an important update on the progress of our new mosque and the Albanian Cultural Centre. This project represents a major step forward for our community — a permanent space for worship, education, and cultural life that will serve our members for generations to come.
Where We Stand with Fundraising
Since our recent fundraising dinner, we have seen tremendous support and generosity from the community. Here is where things currently stand:
- Total pledged: $2.8 million
- Total collected: $1.84 million
- Remaining to be collected: $960,000

In addition, we currently hold approximately $3 million in cash, and our existing mosque property is valued at $2.2 million. Together, this brings our total available assets to approximately $5.2 million toward our overall goal of $10.8 million.
We are now entering a critical phase of outreach. Our focus is to connect with members who have not yet had the opportunity to contribute. This project belongs to the entire community, and we are committed to ensuring that every family has the chance to take part in building this future.

Where We Stand with Due Diligence
Alongside fundraising, our team is actively working through a structured due diligence process to ensure that we approach this project responsibly and with care. Key steps include:
- Consulting with four different groups of planners, architects, and engineers to select the most suitable team
- Reviewing zoning bylaws, permitting requirements, and all necessary municipal processes to ensure full legal compliance
About the Property: 1 City View Drive
The property we have conditionally secured is located at 1 City View Drive, Toronto. It is currently zoned E 1.0 (Employment Industrial), which allows only industrial and limited employment uses. To operate a mosque and community centre on this site, we must rezone the property to allow institutional and community-based uses.
Our next step, after selecting a lead consultant team, will be to schedule a Pre-Application Consultation (PAC) Meeting with the Etobicoke District of the City of Toronto. This meeting will include the City’s planning department and will help us assess the feasibility of the rezoning process. This is an essential step in understanding how to move forward with our intended use of the site.
We are also working with legal and financial advisors to evaluate all potential risks and obligations before making any final decisions.
Due Diligence Timeline
Our formal due diligence period remains open until July 18. This allows us the flexibility to withdraw from the transaction if necessary. However, we want our community to know that we are fully engaged and working diligently to advance this project with care and responsibility.
What Comes Next
In the coming weeks, we will share further updates regarding both our financial progress and the rezoning process. We remain committed to transparency at every stage and look forward to continuing this journey together.
This initiative is more than just a construction project. It is a legacy — an investment in our identity, our future, and our ability to serve the needs of our growing congregation. We are deeply grateful for your continued support, trust, and prayers.
Sincerely,
