On Thursday, March 12, we had the pleasure of welcoming Karim Bardeesy, Member of Parliament for Parkdale—High Park, to the Albanian Muslim Society of Toronto.

During his visit, MP Bardeesy met with our Imam, Adnan Berbatovci, and our President, Dardan Emini. The meeting included a brief tour of our mosque and a thoughtful conversation about our community and the broader issues facing Canadians today.

We appreciated the opportunity to share more about our congregation, our history, and the role our mosque plays in serving the Albanian Muslim community in Toronto. MP Bardeesy took the time to listen attentively and expressed a genuine interest in understanding the perspectives and concerns of our community, as well as the challenges many Canadians are navigating in today’s global climate.

We were grateful for the respectful and meaningful dialogue, and for his willingness to engage directly with community members.

We thank MP Bardeesy for taking the time to visit our mosque and for the thoughtful conversation. We wish him every success in the important work ahead and look forward to staying in touch.
